About
Thistledown Wines is an Australian producer founded by Master of Wine Giles Cooke, focused on crafting elegant, site-expressive wines from premium vineyard sources. The “Gorgeous” range highlights old-vine Grenache, showcasing purity, balance and refined fruit expression.
Winemaking: Hand-picked old-vine Grenache is gently de-stemmed and crushed before undergoing approximately 3.5 hours of skin contact to achieve its pale colour. Fermentation takes place at cool temperatures in stainless steel to preserve aromatics, followed by maturation on lees to enhance texture and mouthfeel.
Vineyards: Sourced from a single old bush-vine vineyard in the Riverland region of South Australia. Warm days and cool nights allow slow, even ripening, producing fruit with bright acidity, concentration and natural balance.
