Tasting Notes:

Nose: Aromas of raisins, figs and dates are complemented by caramel, toasted nuts and warming spice.

Palate: Full and rich with flavours of fruitcake, toffee and dark chocolate, layered with cinnamon, nutmeg and sweet sherry oak.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering dried fruit sweetness, cocoa and gentle oak spice.

The Provenance range from Douglas Laing is known for single cask and small batch bottlings that highlight the natural character of individual distilleries. Each release is non-chill filtered and bottled to preserve full flavour and texture.

Blair Athol, located in Pitlochry, produces a rich, nutty and slightly spicy spirit that works particularly well with sherry cask maturation. This 2009 vintage has spent 10 years developing depth and complexity in oak, resulting in a well-balanced and flavourful Highland single malt.

Serving suggestion: Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to open up the dried fruit and spice. Pairs beautifully with Christmas pudding, dark chocolate or mature cheeses.
