One of the defining features in the production of Jack Daniel's whiskey is the Lincoln County Process.
During this process, maple timbers are carefully burned to create pellets of charcoal. These pellets are then filled into vats, through which freshly-distilled Jack Daniel's is then filtered in order to remove remaining impurities, impart flavour and achieve the whiskey's famed mellow mouthfeel.
Only once the spirit has undergone this traditional process is it filled into quality oak barrels for ageing.
