About

Clos René is one of the older estates in Pomerol, dating back to the mid 18th century. At the time of its birth in 1734, it went under the name of Reney. The original château pictured on the label was constructed in 1880. Today, Clos René is owned by both the Garde family and the Lasserre family. Its wines are known for their consistent quality and are produced using sustainable agriculture methods.

A straightforward and classic style, Chateau Clos René is typically made up of a blend of predominantly Merlot with approximately 20% Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Hand-picked with each variety harvested at different times, based on the ripeness of the fruit, this is a carefully made wine which stands shoulder to shoulder with some of the great wines of Bordeaux.
