About

Pol Roger is one of Champagne’s most respected family-owned houses, founded in 1849 in Épernay. Often referred to as the “gentleman’s Champagne,” it has long been associated with precision, restraint and elegance, and was famously a favourite of Sir Winston Churchill.

Winemaking: Grapes are gently pressed immediately after harvest, with juices undergoing careful settling before cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Each grape variety and cru is vinified separately before blending, with around 25% reserve wines added for complexity. The wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation and is aged for a minimum of four years in deep chalk cellars at 33 metres below ground. After riddling and disgorgement, it rests before release to ensure balance and finesse.

Vineyards: Fruit is sourced from around 30 crus across the Champagne region, including Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, Pinot Meunier from the Vallée de la Marne and Chardonnay from Épernay and the Côte des Blancs. This diversity gives structure, freshness and aromatic complexity.
