Tasting Notes
This very elegant Chablis is bursting with white flowers and stone fruits aromas. Round and subtle on the palate, this wine has a long finish with a stony character and a fresh citrus acidity that leaves you wanting more.
About
Louis Jadot was established by Louis-Henry Jadot in 1859. As a winery, they have established and maintained the quality of their wines for 160 years through the careful wine-making. The steady acquisition of the best vineyards in Burgundy has added to their portfolio and, for the past 20 years, they have avoided all synthetic products (fertilisers, herbicides etc) on their own vineyard soils allowing vines to develop more naturally. Yields are controlled by controlled pruning and, sometimes, by starving the vines of nutrients, which results in small, higher quality fruit leading to higher quality wines.
With no oak used it its vinification, Cellier du Valvan Chablis is fermented in stainless steel tanks, which respects the grape's natural characteristics and results in a clean, fresh and authentic wine, true to the grape variety.
