Tasting Notes
Brilliant, straw yellow with greenish highlights and a variety of aromas which reappear at different moments. An initial fresh sensation with a fuller middle palate and a long refreshing finish. The more citrus notes give way to mineral notes and touches of mango on the palate rounded off by white flowers and nuances of melon.
About
Raimat is a large estate in the north of Spain and is owned by the Codorniu group. For Raimat, big is beautiful as they enjoy the most up to date wine technology and range of vineyards, grape varieties and 'terroirs'. Exceptional care is still taken here with grapes harvested at night when they are at their coolest and firmest; this reduces damage and bruising which maked for cleaner, better flavoured juice.
The sustainable vineyards and the ecosystem make the Raimat estate an unspoiled paradise for birds too. Saira is one of the villages closest to the farm and it is very common to see bird nests during the migration season. As a symbol of this, Raimat named this Albariño with its name, Raimat Saira Albariño, a tribute to the storks in Raimat and its surroundings. This is an original wine that maintains the typicity of the variety, providing nuances and complexity that give it a unique personality.
