Tasting Notes
A rather nice deep purple colour in the glass, this wine has some real instense aromas of blueberries and ripened cherries. More intensity awaits on the palate when once again those dark ripened cherries make an appearance. This is a powerful fruity wine with a some lovely smooth but firm tannins .
About
The name Cien y Pico means “Hundred and something” and refers to the age of the ancient vines from which these wines are made. These wines are the product of four winemakers (Australian Zar Brooks, his Bulgarian wife Elena Golakova Brooks, Spaniard Luis Juminez García and Italian Nicola Tucci) who have made it their life to preserve the 19th century vineyards. The vineyards are now grown to a certified organic farming method.
