Botromagno Gravina is a crisp, elegant white from one of Puglia's least-known wine appellations. It combines fresh lemon, green apple, pear and white peach with delicate floral notes and a clean, subtly mineral finish.
It offers more personality than a simple everyday white while remaining dry, refreshing and immediately approachable.
Best suited to: customers who enjoy Pinot Grigio, Soave, Gavi or restrained Sauvignon Blanc and want to try something less familiar without moving into a rich, strongly aromatic or challenging style.
Merchant's Tip
If you normally drink Pinot Grigio, Soave or Gavi but fancy trying something less familiar, Gravina is an easy bottle to recommend. It remains crisp, dry and refreshing, but the local grape blend gives it enough extra fruit and character to make the change worthwhile.
Nose: Fresh lemon, green apple, pear and white peach are joined by delicate blossom, subtle herbs and a light stony note.
Palate: Crisp citrus and orchard fruit lead into softer stone-fruit flavours, supported by lively acidity and a gentle texture. The wine has enough flavour to remain interesting while retaining the clean, refreshing character that makes it so approachable.
Finish: Dry, bright and persistent, with lingering lemon, apple, white peach and subtle mineral freshness.
Botromagno Gravina is made from 60% Greco and 40% Malvasia, traditional grapes of the historic Gravina DOC. The vineyards lie around Gravina in Puglia in the Alta Murgia, where hilly terrain and limestone soils help give the wine its distinctive regional character.
The grapes are fermented for around 15 days in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled 14–16°C. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation and then spends four months maturing in stainless steel. Avoiding both malolactic fermentation and oak helps preserve its bright acidity, fresh fruit and clean, crisp style.
The result is a distinctive Puglian white with citrus and orchard fruit, delicate floral character and enough texture to give it personality without making it rich or heavy.
Botromagno Gravina is particularly good with grilled fish, prawns, seafood pasta, light risotto, roast or grilled chicken, goats' cheese, antipasti and summer salads. Its fresh acidity keeps the palate refreshed, while the gentle fruit and floral character complement lighter dishes without overpowering them.

We like Gravina because it gives us something genuinely different to recommend without asking the customer to take much of a risk.
Customers rarely arrive specifically asking for it, but if someone normally drinks Pinot Grigio, Soave or Gavi and wants something a little more interesting, this is exactly the sort of bottle we would suggest. The name may be unfamiliar, but the fresh citrus, orchard-fruit and stone-fruit character is reassuringly accessible.
Choose it when you want a crisp, dry Italian white with more personality than a simple everyday bottle, but without rich oak or a strongly aromatic style.
