This wine is from the Calbria region in Southern Italy. The Cirò wine region is located in the eastern foothills of the La Sila region and extends to the Ionian coast. Wines here tend to be tannic and full-bodied and need time to mature and soften. It is rumoured that this wine was offered to winners in the ancient olympics.
