About
Known for his award-winning Californian wines, Paul Hobbs first visited Mendoza in Argentina in 1989. He fell in love with the people and the place and saw immediately the potential to make great wine. His venture quickly encompassed the variety that would become Argentina's staple - Malbec. His first vintage of Malbec was a hit and convinced the press of the potential of this variety.
Paul established his Argentinian winery, Viña Cobos, in 1999 and now, more than 20 years later, he continues to make wines that are authentic expressions of the terroir and region from which they come.

Simple red meat dishes are enhanced by this wine's full-bodied, tannic structure. Salty cheeses also work really well as do cured meats, olives and salted nuts.
