Cherry red with fresh aromas of dark fruits and especially cherries and damsons. These flavours carry through onto the palate, which is soft and backed up with supple tannins.
About
A blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Grenache, Les Vignes de L'Eglise wines are made by the Cave de Pomérols Co-operative in Southern France, just north of Montpellier. With around 350 growers contracted to the co-op, this is an important producer with more than half of the production given to white wines and the rest split pretty much evenly between red and rosé.
The hot, sunny climate in this part of France ensures that the wine benefits from delicious ripe flavours whilst enjoying a clean freshness from the fresh sea breezes of the Mediteranean sea to the South.
