Red wine is where Puglia offers its greatest variety. You can choose from smooth, generously fruity reds, darker and more savoury styles, fresher and more energetic wines, or reds with greater structure and complexity.
Primitivo is responsible for many of Puglia's famously ripe and smooth reds, but grapes such as Negroamaro, Susumaniello and Nero di Troia can take you in quite different directions.
