Tasting Notes

Ondarre Graciano Rioja is a rich purple black colour with rich ripe black fruits aroma leading to a uniquely elegant subtle spiced wine, with flavours of ripe plums and dark blueberries. The finish is long, gentle and fruity.

About

The vineyards, averaging 25 years in age, are situated on Rioja Valley’s northern hills on south-facing slopes, at an altitude of 550 metres above sea level.

Bodegas Ondarre Rioja Graciano is a rare single varietal Rioja made using the Graciano grape rather than the tradition grape used in Rioja, the Tempranillo.

The grapes were harvested at optimum maturity and then fermented in temperature controlled vats at 28°C. The wine was aged 50% in new French oak and 50% in medium grain Missouri oak for a total of 12 months.
