Chapoutier Schieferkopf Riesling is produced by the renowned Rhône Valley producer M. Chapoutier, whose Schieferkopf project focuses on expressing the unique terroirs of Alsace. Known for their biodynamic philosophy and precision winemaking, the Chapoutier family has built an international reputation for producing wines of exceptional purity and character.
Winemaking: The grapes are carefully harvested and fermented at controlled temperatures to preserve freshness and aromatic purity. Gentle handling and minimal intervention allow the Riesling grape and the vineyard’s terroir to shine through.
Vineyards: The Schieferkopf vineyards are located on steep slopes in Alsace with distinctive schist-rich soils. These soils provide excellent drainage and impart a striking mineral character to the wine, while the cool continental climate helps maintain vibrant acidity and aromatic complexity.
