Tasting Notes
A youthful and slightly peaty aroma is followed by sweet honey, nuts and corn flakes. This leads nicely into a light and mild taste with more sweet aromas that envoke memories of grains and honey. Finishing mellow with the slightly peaty aroma very present on the aftertaste.
About
Togouchi is a no-age-statement Japanese whisky blended from Scottish malt and Canadian grain whiskies. It is blended and vatted before being matured in a tunnel that was originally intended to house a railway. It's a fairly sweet and friendly expression with notes of coconut, caramel and exotic fruits..
A happy marriage between Scottish heritage and Japanese blending know-how. Peaty and chocolatey notes are also present while the grain whisky sweetens the malt resulting in a powerful, well-balanced whisky. Matured and blended by Chugoku Jozo's Master Blenders, the alcohol content is then reduced using pure spring water from the Sandankyo mountains.
